How to use the Free RT Type-On Cursor Plugin
Note: This plugin requires Final Cut Pro 10.3
After installing, follow these steps to apply the RT Type-On Cursor plugin in the Final Cut Pro X Timeline:
Locate the plugin in the Custom category of the Titles Browser. There are 2 titles to choose from: RT Type-On Cursor 80s and RT Type-On Cursor Modern. Drag either title into the Timeline.
With the Playhead parked over the Title, press Command-4 to open the Inspector. Click the Title Inspector button to reveal the parameter controls.
The 80’s version includes a horizontal cursor. Change the cursor blink speed, width and position. Adjust the typing delay and how the text animates on the screen.
The Modern version includes a horizontal cursor. Change the cursor blink speed, width and position. Adjust the typing delay and how the text animates on the screen.
Both titles include transparency and can be connected to a video clip in the Primary Storyline. The speed of the type-on is controlled by the duration of the clip. Shorter clip durations produce a faster type-on effect and longer clip durations produce a slower type-on effect.
