Riffing on Titlemations with Mark Spencer
In this episode of Final Cut Pro X in Under 5 Minutes, Mark Spencer riffs on his new Titlemations plugin. He also talks a little bit about how and why he built this plugin for Final Cut Pro X.

Mark I have Titlemations but they’re not exporting properly. They play fine in the timeline but when I export they’re often corrupted. The title will be misaligned or it’ll be caught in one position without any motion. I’m a seasoned pro with good understanding of FCPX and Motion – this is definitely a bug. Is this a known issue? I like them a lot they’re a great part of my workflow but I missed a deadline tonight when the export had to be written off because of a corrupted title. I’ll try re-installing but would love confidence it’ll not happen again I’d hate to loose them but can’t keep using them like this. Thanks, Matt
Matt,
First, I apologize for taking so long to respond. I am not notified about comments made in this blog so I have no way of knowing that you have posted here.
This is the first I have heard of any export issues. I have never experienced any export issues and have not heard of anyone else. I suspect however you have a problem with your fonts. I would recommend opening Fontbook, validating all your fonts, and removing all duplicates. Corrupted and duplicated fonts are frequently the cause of export errors.

Matt,
Sorry for the delayed response, I don’t get notified when there are comments here. Check Fontbook – validate your fonts and remove all duplicates, these are the primary causes for export errors with titles.

Thank You Mark for developing something that is truly useful to me. I use titles all of the time, and like you, I just need a few good ones that I feel confident with that I can use all of the time.
Thank you very much, Richard! Let me know if there any improvements you’d like in the next update.
Mark
Thanks, Richard, let me know if you have any recommendations for a future update.
