This trick is useful if you want to incorporate stills into a video project. The problem with the new Photos app is that FCP only looks at the Photos System Photos Library in its photos browser. Obviously, if your pix are not in that library, you need to use a workaround. This trick is great — just create a “VIDPIX” folder somewhere, put it into the FCP photos browser, and export the pix from Photos that you want to incorporate in FCP into that folder.
I was able to get it to work with iCloud Drive using a TIFF in a folder
Hi Steve, yes, I was able to do it with DropBox and Google Drive, but not iCloud for some reason… but in all, great tip.
So, in theory, would this work with a shared Google Drive folder, or iCloud?
In theory, any folder that is viewable and accessible within Mac OS file system will work. But I have not tried it with GD or iCloud
