Mark, I am 61 years old and doing all I can to keep up on this AI stuff. I made a promise to myself many many years ago that I did not want to get like my grandparents or parents and ever need anyone to help me reset the clock on my VCR as it flashes “0000”. :}. As you mentioned, this is the worst that AI (Gemini) gets and frankly it’s pretty darn exceptional. It’s just a matter of months before they absolutely perfect this stuff. You have no choice but to continue on as there are going to be many, many people that still want to learn the old school way. I am a beginner at FCP and find myself simply keeping another browser window open and just asking google AI answers to simple questions when ever they come up and I get my answer immediately. I am not a futurist, but it’s just a matter of time before this becomes mainstream to our kids and definitely our grand kids. People like me that follow guys like you and Steve do it because of your personalities and the material you teach. As you know, it’s a full time job just staying up on the AI trends in your space. I suggest you simply take a slight deviation in the road and just teach us all about AI and the endless tools we can use to help make our video production better. You cannot fight the trends of this. Best of luck.

I build AI-driven apps, so I have that perspective, and I’ve also paid for many of your tutorials over the years and absolutely LOVE your work! I can confirm to everyone that this video is exactly what it’s like trying to get AI to do things for you. It’s extremely error prone and leads you astray with incredible confidence. It’s exhausting. Mark, you and Steve absolutely MUST continue with full confidence until AI can prove itself capable of doing your job better than you. Technology does not improve the way tech companies would like you to believe. What was the last great invention after the iPhone in 2006? Where are the robots and flying cars we were promised? Oh yeah, I know, we’re almost there. Aren’t we always? Keep going Mark! You have many good years ahead, and of course keep your eyes peeled for new opportunities. Tech will automate more things in time, but we’ll always evolve to do something it still can’t do. You and Steve are awesome. Thank you for your great work. Your tutorials are some of the best money I’ve ever spent.

This is a fascinating watch, Mark. Enjoyable and important.
I say keep going. Do your thing. The type of person likely to use AI in this context isn’t interested in the in-depth, nuanced training you always provide. But many of us are and will remain interested in that. And no one will ever be giddy or excited to finally meet their AI teacher who has helped them so much over the years.
