Track Text & Graphics to a Drone Shot
Drone shots have become a regular part of our visual lexicon. In the first lesson, you’ll work with Fusion’s planar tracker to corner pin text or a logo for the purpose of identifying a geographic location.
Remove Objects from a Shot
Removing an unwanted object from a shot is not uncommon, but it can quickly become infinitely more tricky when the camera is in motion. Mark will show you several methods for removing said objects, using his recipe of tracker, paint and polygon nodes.
Create a “Text Sandwich”
The Studio version of DaVinci Resolve includes a tool called “Magic Mask” that uses machine learning to automatically rotoscope your subject and isolate it from the background. With this tool and a text node, you’ll learn how to place text behind your masked subject for the purpose of creating the popular “text sandwich” effect.
Surface Track a Logo
In the final series of lessons, Mark will show you how to use Fusion’s surface tracker to pin a logo to non-uniform surfaces such as clothing. You’ll then learn his amazing recipes for making the logo look worn, and ultimately occluding it behind other articles of clothing to sell the shot.

A great set of tutorials / techniques for Fusion. Four techniques that are usable for a lot of different effects and situations.
Mark’s insights into the different effects and tools are invaluable, when he says “you can do it this way but I prefer to use this technique” there’s a reason informed by experience you aren’t going to get from any manual or less experienced teacher.
