Applying Blend Modes in Motion
By Estelle MacDonald

There are 4 ways of adding/controlling Blend Modes.

1. In the dashboard (F7). Select the object you want to affect and use the dropdown to select a Blend Mode.

2. In the Properties Tab (F1). Select the object you want to affect and use the dropdown to select a Blend Mode.

3. Using the Menu. Select the object you want to affect then navigate to the Object Menu > Blend Mode.

4. The Layers tab (command + 4). There is a small arrow to the right of the headings in each of the windows in the Project pane. The contents of this arrow differs depending on which tab you have selected, Layers, Media or Audio. To access Blend, you need to have the Layers tab selected.

Click this arrow and choose Blend

A heading of Blend Modes is now active and you can instantly see what is applied where!

Select a Blend Mode from the dropdown.

This is a fantastic visual guide and is especially useful when using layered Photoshop files.
